Frequently Asked Questions
What are Ombre Powder Brows?
Ombre Powder Brows is the newest brow technique. Permanent makeup has come a long way since eyebrow tattoos, which never looked natural, Ombre Powder Brows are fully customizable to give you natural brows, or more dramatic brows. This method creates thousands of of pixilated dots of pigment to mimic powder filled brows, with no harsh outline. This shading technique is minimally invasive, lasts up to 3 years, and is pain free!
Ombre Powder Brows vs. Microblading
Microblading is only recommended for people with dry and normal skin types. Ombre Powder Brows is great for all skin types, including those with oily or combination skin. Microblading is achieved by manually creating incisions in the skin and filling them with pigment. Ombre Powder Brows technique creates thousands of pixilated dots of pigment on the upper layer of the skin. The result is fuller, and more filled in brows. While there is no pain during the Ombre Powder technique, there is some pain and bleeding involved with Microblading. Chinchilla Brows no longer offers microblading because we prefer the beautiful healed results of the Ombre Powder technique.
Which One Lasts Longer?
Ombre Powder Brows and Microblading are both semi-permanent brow procedures. Ombre Powder Brows last up to 3 years, while Microblading lasts up to 2 years. Tattoo eyebrows are permanent but they also fade and tend to turn blue or green. We definitely don’t recommend doing any type of permanent makeup on your face.
What Can I Expect at my Brow Appointment?
We like to allow up to 3 hours for the treatment. You will arrive and fill out some forms. Then you will meet with Daniel and talk about your brows and the look you would like to achieve, whether that be natural or more dramatic. Daniel will map and draw your eyebrows, and you both will decide on the shape before he starts the treatment. You will be numbed throughout the treatment using a topical gel, and will feel no pain. You will actually be very relaxed, most clients fall asleep and wake up to perfect brows!
Choosing an Artist
Treatments done by professional, well known artists usually cost more, but you can be confident that your brows will be perfectly done. Always do your research before deciding on an artist. Your brows are the main focus on your face, so don’t let the price be the most important thing when choosing your artist.
